Projects co-financed by the Cohesion Fund must belong to the following categories: i) environmental projects – projects that contribute to achieving the aims of the Community environment policy defined in the Treaty on European Union and, in particular, projects that come within the priorities laid down in the programme of policy and action in relation to the environment and sustainable development - and ii) transport infrastructure projects – projects intended for establishing or improving the transport infrastructure within the Trans-European Transport Network (TEN-T) or projects that facilitate access to the TEN, in accordance with the guidelines adopted in Decision 1692/96/EC-.
